Three new Associated Chairs at USIAS
The University of Strasbourg Institute for Advanced Study (USIAS) welcomes Hélène Dollfus, Monica Manolescu and Vipul Patel as Associated Chairs. During their tenure, from 2024 to 2026, the three chair holders will join the Governing Board of permanent Chairs as temporary members.
Hélène Dollfus is a consultant at the University Hospital of Strasbourg (HUS) and professor of medical genetics at the University of Strasbourg, based at the CRBS (Strasbourg Biomedicine Research Centre) She has been appointed to the Paul Ehrlich Chair in the domain of life sciences.
Monica Manolescu is professor of American literature and art at the University of Strasbourg, where she is member of the member of the research centre SEARCH (Knowledge in the Anglophone Area: Representations, Culture, History). She will hold the Marc Bloch Chair in the area of social sciences and humanities.
Vipul Patel is medical director of both the Global Robotics Institute and the Urologic Oncology Program of the Cancer Institute at AdventHealth Celebration. During his mandate as Chair of Telesurgery and Healthcare Equity, he will spend time at the Research Institute against Digestive Cancer (IRCAD) in Strasbourg.
