New Associated Chair in RNA biology at USIAS

Georg Stoecklin, professor for biochemistry at Heidelberg University (Germany), has been appointed as an Associated Chair in the area of RNA Biology at the University of Strasbourg Institute for Advanced Study (USIAS) in 2023-2024.

Throughout his career, Professor Stoecklin has studied mechanisms controlling mammalian gene expression at the posttranscriptional level, investigating mechanisms that control global mRNA turnover and exploring the regulation of mRNA translation into proteins. In his work, he integrates a range of methods including biochemistry, molecular and cell biology, as well as next generation sequencing combined with bioinformatics approaches.

During his time in Strasbourg as USIAS associated chair, Georg Stoecklin is hosted by Dr. Bertrand Séraphin at the Institute of Genetics and Molecular and Cellular Biology (IGBMC) of the University of Strasbourg.
