Two USIAS Fellows were highlighted for their recent publications that are linked to their USIAS Fellowship.

Articles in Nature, Nature Genetics and PNAS - Joseph Schacherer

J Schacherer

Joseph Schacherer (2017 Fellow) and his team at the Laboratory of Molecular Genetics, Genomics and Microbiology (GMGM) in Strasbourg are working on the big question of how to explain variation in the phenotype of a genotype. For the moment, only a small proportion of the genetic part of the majority of complex traits is explained. His Fellowship at USIAS, which was soon followed by an ERC Consolidator Grant, has enabled important steps to be taken in this fundamental quest. In a recent interview published in the university's daily newspaper Savoir(s), he looks back at three important articles that have been published recently by him and his team in Nature, Nature Genetics and PNAS.

Articles in Nature Physics - Daniel Riveline

Daniel Riveline (2023 USIAS Fellow) and his team at Strasbourg University’s Institute of Genetics and Molecular and Cellular Biology (IGBMC) have, with international collaborators, published two articles this year in the journal Nature Physics. The articles look at the mechanical interactions between cells, which play a major role in the self-organisation of tissues. More information
