Fellows seminar - Making LinCS: a project in cultural studies
Jérôme Beauchez, 2019 Fellow
This seminar will focus on the personal and collective dimensions of a project that creates links: between one researcher's investigations, but also with disciplines and theoretical traditions that have been brought together through the emergence of a new paradigm in 'cultural studies'. This paradigm was brought to life through the creation of the Laboratory for interdisciplinary cultural studies (LinCS) in Strasbourg, the first French laboratory to be supported by the French National Centre for Scientific Research (CNRS) in this thematic area. The idea of 'cultural studies' is also taking shape in investigations, articles and books.
One of these will be presented, less as an example than as a concrete achievement in the renewal of the social sciences and humanities at the University of Strasbourg - and perhaps beyond.
