May 13, 2016
From 08:45 until 18:50
Auditorium IGBMC, Strasbourg

Genes and diseases: some current issues and perspectives

In the 21st century, the role our genes play in health and disease increasingly impacts on disease diagnosis, prognosis and treatment. In the era of the personal genome and high-throughput technologies, the potential for a better understanding of complex diseases is enormously increased. However, the understanding of the application of these new possibilities in medical research and medical practice is still in its infancy. In this colloquium, top researchers in the field will present recent insights on specific genetic diseases and discuss the possibilities of precision medicine and the future of clinical genetics.

The colloquium is organized by Jean-Louis Mandel, under the auspices of the Collège de France, USIAS and IGBMC, featuring:

Pierre Corvol (Collège de France)

Alain Fischer (Collège de France, Institut Imagine)

Edith Heard (Collège de France, Institut Curie)

David Ledbetter (Geisinger Health system, Danville USA)

Christine Petit (Collège de France, Institut Pasteur)

and Hélène Dollfus (INSERM and CHU Strasbourg), Jamel Chelly, Yann Herault, Jocelyn Laporte, Hervé Moine, Amélie Piton, Hélène Puccio, Chantal Sellier, Yvon Trottier, from IGBMC
