12th USIAS Fellows Seminar : Economic Growth and Gender Equality

March 12, 2015
From 12:00 until 14:00
MISHA, Salle Table Ronde

Claude Diebolt, Fellow 2012, Bureau d'Economie Théorique et Appliquée

Throughout human history, the improvement of gender equality seems partly related to demographic transition but it also seems that the socio-economic developement had an infuence. Confirmation of this theory require the use of economic quantitative and empirical techniques in one single cliometric approach, namely by applying those techniques to historical research.

Claude Diebolt is currently working on a project that aims at address the relation between economic growth and gender equality by producing quantitative projection of social sciences on the past, structured by economic theory and mathematical modelling, using statistical and econometric models. During the seminar, Pr. Diebolt will present the first results of his research in this field.
