Cholinergic control of attention: translational research approaches

On Thursday 22 May at 11:00, Prof. Sarter will give a special seminar about "Cholinergic control of attention: translational research approaches". The seminar will take place at the INCI Neurochmistry Building (access) and is open to all interested, please contact animation-INCI [at] neurochem.u-strasbg.fr

Martin Sarter is the Charles M. Butter Collegiate Professor of Psychology and Professor of Neuroscience at the University of Michigan. He is one of the leaders in the area of cholinergic research. Specifically, he demonstrated through choline-sensitive micro-electrodes that changes in concentration of acetylcholine were made much faster than assumed, thus calling into question the notion of "volume transmission" of this neurotransmitter.

Martin Sarter will be in Strasbourg in the second half of May 2014 as part of the USIAS short visits program. Researchers and students who wish to connect to Prof. Sarter can contact Matilde Cordero-Erasquin at cordero [at] unistra.fr
