Gaelle Blond
Gaëlle Blond graduated from the University of Nantes in 1999, and obtained her PhD in organic chemistry from the Université Claude Bernard Lyon 1 (2002). She then worked as a postdoctoral associate at the Max Planck Institut for Kohlenforschung in Muelheim an der Ruhr in the group of Professor A. Fürstner (2002-2003). After two additional periods of postdoctoral research at the University of Le Mans and the University of Bordeaux, she obtained in 2005 a junior position “Chargé de Recherche” at the CNRS in the group of Dr. J. Suffert in the Laboratoire d’Innovation Thérapeutique (UMR 7200) at the University of Strasbourg. In november 2014, she obtained her « Habilitation à Diriger les Recherches » from the University of Strasbourg. Her research deals with the development of new methodologies using transition metals, leading to complex polycyclic molecules.
As part of her fellowship, Gaelle Blond is working on Cascade approaches to seven and eight-membered carbocycles.
