Philippe Hugueney
After attending the Ecole Normale Supérieure de Saint-Cloud, Philippe Hugueney has performed his doctoral work under the direction of Prof. Bilal Camara in Strasbourg. Then, he joined Prof. Peter Beyer’s lab at University Freiburg as a post-doc. In 1998, he was appointed Maître de Conférences at the l'Ecole Normale Supérieure de Lyon, where he initiated research on scent biosynthesis in roses. Since 2009, he is Senior Researcher at INRA in Colmar, leading the team „Grapevine Secondary Metabolism“. His research interest is the functional genomics of secondary metabolism in grapevine, with emphasis on grape aroma biosynthesis and defense metabolism.
As part of his Fellowship, Philippe Hugueney is working on the project Improved Provitamin A accumulation and stabilization through the combination of optimized upstream and downstream pathway components, together with his collaborator Peter Beyer.
