EUCOR 2013 medal to Jean-Marie Lehn

The EUCOR 2013 medal was awarded to USIAS Chair Jean-Marie Lehn, laureate of the Nobel Prize in Chemistry 1987. It was handed to him on Monday 9 December at Freiburg im Breisgau by Professor Hans-Jochen Schiewer , Rector of the University of Freiburg and current President of EUCOR .

This distinction created by EUCOR, the University of Upper Rhine, was awarded for the first time two years ago to the artist Tomi Ungerer and in 2012 to the publisher Hubert Burda. It symbolizes the will of the five member universities of EUCOR to honor personalities from the Upper Rhine whose achievements and career have been particularly instrumental in promoting cross-border cooperation and in increasing the influence of the tri-national region.
