Danika Trautmann

Danika Trautmann studied at the Faculty of Biology, University of Freiburg (Germany) and at the University of Verona (Italy) specializing in Biochemistry, and gathered first laboratory work experience during several months at the IFOM –Institute of Molecular Oncology in Milan. After her Diploma Thesis in Freiburg, she continued working for her PhD in the Lab of Prof. Dr. Peter Beyer investigating Carotenoid Metabolism and Genome Characteristics of the Cyanobacterium Synechocystis.

Coming to France (INRA, Colmar) for a PostDoc, Danika continued research on the Isoprenoid Metabolism with focus on the rate-limiting enzyme DXS of the early biosynthetic pathway in the frame of the USIAS project Improved Provitamin A accumulation and stabilization through the combination of optimized upstream and downstream pathway components, which is jointly carried out by Philippe Hugueney and Peter Beyer.
